Retail Standards

The standards recently released by the Retail Institute make it clear that assessment must occur in a retail context, and that students need exposure to learning in a real retail environment.  This is a clarification, not a change.  Instant’s retail sector resources have always taken this approach and as such are suitable for students on a Gateway or work experience programme.  

The Retail Institute is also proposing to introduce a new Foundation-level certificate which will not require practical experience in a retail context.   It is proposed that it will cover pre-employment skills and will suit tuition and assessment in a classroom setting.   Instant intends to develop resources for this Foundation certificate once it is released.
